The Los Angeles Inner-city Lacrosse Association (Lax In LA ) will be having a total of 7 middle school lacrosse teams this summer. There will be both boys' and girls' teams at Gage Middle School in Huntington Park, Markham Middle School in Watts and the Vermont Avenue "Kids In Sports" club in South Los Angeles.
In addition, LAX in LA is starting a girls' team at John Muir Middle School in South Los Angeles, where they already have a boys' team run in conjunction with the Starz Foundation.
Coaches are needed to help out one to three days per week this summer to teach the game to some really deserving kids!
There will also be pick-up games (boys and girls) at Huntington Park HS this summer on Sundays from 6-8 PM.
Lax In LA is starting teams at Jordan and South Gate high schools, and this will provide a chance for these kids to learn to play the game before their team officially begins. All are welcome to play. In fact, experienced players and coaches are encouraged to come down to teach this new generation of lacrosse players our beautiful sport.
Lax In LA's mission is a commitment to making a positive change in the lives of Los Angeles' under served, inner-city youth by using lacrosse to inspire them to recognize and realize their potential. LAX in LA is doing this... and then some.
If you can spare some time, come out, play some lacrosse, and change a life!
